Entering My Obsession Arc

I’ve been studying planetary movements and archetypal psychology for 5+ years now, and I must say that the world has been my greatest teacher. No book or authority can teach you any of this because all that is static. You have to take a plunge into the dramatic movements of the world, study history, visit museums, watch great films, read biographies, listen to a great range of music, create art, and simply observe culture unfold. That’s exactly what made me fall in love with this vocation—of being an archetypal astrologer/cosmologist—it simply required me to live fully and deeply. At the end of the day, I’m in the business of nurturing the Mystery. And what is daily life if not a big beautiful mystery? I was astrologically initiated in late 2019 just as the Saturn-Pluto world transit (2018-2021) was about to enter its peak. Historically, Saturn-Pluto alignments have correlated with periods of authoritarianism, crises and contraction. On a personal level it can also represent a period of building deep foundations. That truly was the case for me as I decided to leave social media, which in turn opened up space for me to fully dive into this profound world and develop my archetypal eye. Now when I look back I can see I participated well with this world transit. Through my act of renunciation (Saturn) I was deeply transformed (Pluto).

Then in 2023, as the Saturn-Uranus world transit was unfolding (2021-2023), I became a co-founder of Numinous Realm, and came back online to X (Twitter then). Simultaneously, Abeer and I decided to move from the luscious beach town of Santa Cruz to the edgy concrete jungle of New York City. This was quite a Saturn-Uranus move, as the alignment symbolizes paradigm shifts, bridging tradition and innovation, and well, our intention was to share the world view of archetypal cosmology with the larger world. We wanted to bring this West Coast enchantment to the East Coast pragmatists. Now when I look back I can see I participated well with this world transit. My return to social media signified my urge to share and express (Uranus) all the knowledge and wisdom I had acquired (Saturn) from graduate school.

And then, last year happened. Wow! 2024. I married Abeer, traveled around the world (literally) in 90 days, and grew our team at Numinous Realm. This period correlated with the Jupiter-Uranus world transit which tends to coincide with peak experiences and quantum leaps. I ventured beyond X and posted more on Instagram. I was writing, designing, consulting, promoting, and managing. A lot was happening and the energy was super buzzy. I had A LOT of fun! Now when I look back I can see that I participated well with this transit. I expanded (Jupiter) and experimented (Uranus) in so many ways.

Now, here we are. It’s 2025, and I will be experiencing the Saturn-Neptune world transit (2024-2027) for the first time as an astrologer. Yes yes, I can read what people have written about this transit and look back at history, but truthfully I have no clue because I haven’t lived it (at least with this kind of awareness). Historically, this alignment has correlated with a loss of faith and skepticism, but it can also reflect spiritual discipline and unity. So what does this mean for my participation? Well, lately I’ve been feeling exhausted from posting on all platforms (especially for Numinous Realm). I really just got started with posting YouTube videos and I’m thoroughly enjoying it. I thought I could repost on all other platforms but it’s taking a toll on me. I think what the Saturn-Neptune transit is asking of me is to be disciplined, choose one thing (Saturn) and allow magic and enchantment (Neptune) to be expressed through that medium. So that’s what I’m going to be doing and that’s where I’m going to be. To use Zach Pogrob’s words, I’m entering my obsession arc.

Astrology ain’t about prediction, it’s about participation. This is the Age of Re-Enchantment.
